SPEAKER 2024

ISAAC LOPEZ IZQUIERDO

Current status of asbestos inspection in Spain, rules and regulations. Law 7/22 and its DA14

The main topic is to explain the current state of asbestos inspection in Spain. We will review the legislation that applies in the workplace and that requires asbestos to be identified and its risk evaluated. We will also see what Spanish legislation says about asbestos removal, what the Spanish asbestos inspection standard UNE171370-2 recommends. We will introduce the novelties regarding asbestos in the Waste and Contaminated Soils Law 7/22 in its fourteenth additional provision. Without a doubt, this law can serve as the basis for a large National asbestos elimination project and response to future European requirements.
