Jan Van Bouwel

Jan Van Bouwel is a renowned expert in the field of asbestos removal and control, with over 26 years of experience in the industry. He resides in Lubbeek, Belgium, and has specialized in various aspects of asbestos management, including asbestos inventory, laboratory analysis, monitoring and control checks, training, and removal.

Currently, Jan holds the position of Head of the Industrial Hygiene department at Group idewe / ibeve. He is also a former member of the board at BSOH and currently serves as a board member at Fedasbest. He holds several certifications, including being a certified asbestos expert in the Flanders region and a certified asbestos trainer.

He once got locked up on a Friday evening during an inspection in a large enclosure of an asbestos removal site, wearing only a Tyvec overall, gloves, shoes, and a full-face mask, as all workers left at 4 PM without warning.
